On September 5, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Luding County, Sichuan Province, and a magnitude 4.2 earthquake occurred in Ya'an. State Grid Corporation of China has made every effort to rescue and protect electricity, initiating a Level III emergency response to earthquake disasters. Departments such as State Grid Safety Supervision Department, Equipment Department, Marketing Department, Materials Department, and National Dispatch Center have carried out emergency duty. State Grid Southwest Branch has launched a Level II emergency response for earthquake disasters, while State Grid Sichuan Electric Power has launched a Level I emergency response for earthquake disasters, making every effort to repair damaged power facilities and ensure electricity supply for earthquake relief.
State Grid Sichuan Electric Power immediately identified the damage to power facilities, carried out power facility restoration work, refined and formulated emergency and disaster relief plans, and ensured the completion of emergency power restoration as soon as possible after the disaster; Assess the safety risks of hydropower facilities such as dams to avoid major secondary disasters; Make every effort to ensure the safety of personnel, follow the principle of "no risk in emergency rescue" in emergency rescue and disaster relief, connect electricity to the resettlement points of the affected people as soon as possible, and prepare for aftershocks and secondary disasters.
Under the organization of State Grid Sichuan Electric Power, more than 1000 employees from Ganzi, Ya'an, Leshan, Meishan Power Supply Companies, State Grid Sichuan Electric Emergency Center, State Grid Sichuan Ultra High Voltage Company, Sichuan Power Transmission and Transformation Company drove more than 200 vehicles, and rushed to Luding County with rope rescue equipment, special tools, drones, and generators to carry out emergency rescue and power protection.

At present, the first batch of rescue teams of State Grid Sichuan Electric Power have arrived at the disaster site in Ganzi, Ya'an and other places, connecting emergency power supply for three temporary resettlement sites in Moxi Town, Luding County, and the resettlement sites in Century Square, Xinmin Town Market Town, Xianfeng Primary School, Xinmin Township Frontline Headquarters, Wanggangping resettlement site in Shimian County, Ya'an City, to ensure emergency power supply for earthquake relief.
